THE BURIAL THEME: TRANS-MATTER PORT & OBJECTS
The Burial Theme: Trans-Matter Port and Objects is an audiovisual collaboration between Constanza Bizraelli (sound) and Michael Tan (visuals). It was commissioned by the Institute for Sound & Music for the collective exhibition "Hexadome" and premiered in 2018 at the Martin Gropius-Bau museum in Berlin. Other artists present in the show were Brian Eno, Thom York, Ben Frost, Holly Herndon and more.
In anticipation for the premier of the show, Constanza Bizraelli did a residency at ZKM Center for Art & Media Technology in Karlshruhe in order to compose and make a training in sound spatialization techniques.
The installation consisted of a dome structure with a system of 55 speakers and 6 screens. The sound was spatialized live across the multichannel speakers.
In 2019 the exhibition started a North American tour. It was shown in San Francisco at the Gray Area Festival, in Montreal at the MAC Montreal as part of MUTEK Montreal's program and finally at the Mass Moca (Museum of Contemporary Art of Massachusetts.)
